All Your’n

Mary Godwin Shelley and Percy Shelley. Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. Prince Rainier of Monaco and Grace Kelly. Let’s add David Swenson and Stephanie Zielinski to this list of history-making couples whose love stands head and shoulders above most.

From the first time you meet them, you feel an overwhelming rush of love and happiness that joyfully overtakes a room and infects everyone with the same positive vibes. It was that way during their engagement shoot earlier in ’23 in February. It was that way during a new home/family shoot during the Summer. And it was there—perhaps even moreso than any other time—during their wedding celebration at the Ruffled Feathers Country Club as Fall started to creep in.

From the time spent with David and his raucous Groomsmen as they got all decked out for the day, to the vibe in Stephanie’s bridal suite with her bridesmaids—a combination of electricity, giddiness, and bliss—the day started with an almost Super Bowel-esque level of excitement as they both prepared to officially become husband and wife in front of a couple hundred of their closest family and friends.

After multiple trips down memory lane, and a few final touch-ups, the dynamic duo were off to Our Lady of Peace, in Darien, for their ceremony. Affectionate hand holds and star-gazed looks intermittently filled the moments between each portion of their Catholic ceremony. Nods and smiles between David and Stephanie were shared, continuing to exemplify a couple whose love will very much stand the test of time.

Between the time the ceremony ended, and before everyone headed off to Ruffled Feathers, some wonderful and silly moments were captured of David and Stephanie’s family. Not only did it provide more than a few laughs, it showcased how important the love and support of their respective families has been—and continues to be to their relationship.

And then…off to Ruffled Feathers, where the Wedding Party decided they had to up their fun game after nearly being upstaged by David and Stephanie’s families. Cringe faces (all done with love), playfully pretending to pummel the groom, gross out faces, all part of the shenanigans as the Wedding Party took an already spirited day, and took it up another level or three.

The downside: the shenanigans eventually had to end. The upside: That’s because it was time to get David and Stephanie on the golf course for some gorgeous late afternoon/early evening shots. The images captured provided a matching bookshelf to the engagement shots of them from earlier in the year.

As quickly as it started, their photo time had to wrap up to give David and Stephanie time to re-charge for their reception—where the dynamic duo bucked the trend by being introduced first. Coming in not like a wrecking ball, but more like a rowdy crowd getting hyped for a college Bowl game, they headed to the dance floor, where David dipped the love of his life and planted a wistful kiss on her lips.

After cheering on their Wedding Party as they entered the room, David and Stephanie had a little fun with their wedding cake (more on that on social media…soon! They then took a breather as various family and friends stood up to toast them on, share stories, and congratulate David and Stephanie on the next chapter in their remarkable journey together.

Just before open dancing started, immediately after the First Dances, David’s Uncle Mike and Aunt Renee were introduced to the floor. They entertained the crowd, dancing in celebration of their 34th anniversary. Oh, and they just happened to get married on the same date as David and Stephanie—September 30th!

The remainder of the evening was a party worthy of David and Stephanie’s day. Lots of dancing, laughs, a bouquet and garter toss, and a dance floor filled with people, enjoying a special day between two very special lovebirds.

David and Stephanie are an awe-inspiring couple. Here’s to them, blazing a trail for everyone around them with their love story. History’s greatest couples have nothing on these two!
