A Loving, Laughing, Exciting Wedding at Kilbuck Creek

May 1, 2021

A story that began years ago in Mountain Home, Idaho—where James and Catherine met—opened a new chapter in May 2021. In front of family and friends, the twosome declared their love and “I do’s” on a warm late Spring Saturday at Kilbuck Creek.

The ceremony was held near the main ground at Kilbuck’s wooded pergola. There, James and Catherine read personal vows, each declaring undying love and affection for the other. Tears flowed, smiles were showcased, and the couple made their marriage official to the cheers and delight of the family and friends who made the trip to join them.

We gave the couple a few minutes to capture their poise, re-set, and get ready for family and bridal pictures. Encouraged to be both “serious” and “silly”, James, Catherine, their immediate families, and their bridal party were more than happy to showcase both.

We followed that up by capturing some beautiful, intimate moments with the couple, the duo exhibiting their playful side with Kiss Tag, and their loving side with some of the most intimate looks and hugs we’ve ever had the pleasure to capture.

After wrapping pics with the couple, it was off to the reception also on Kilbuck’s grounds.

James and Catherin̻s reception was nothing short of a blast. The jovial speech given by best man John Samuels—which drew multiple laughs from the crowd, and the loving, sweet speech given by Maid of Honor Aiza Gatdula, kicked off the evening, providing an emotional, energetic, start to the shenanigans.

The reception also included such heartwarming (and fun) moments as:

  • A heartwarming prayer/blessing read by James’ parents
  • The cake cutting;
  • The bouquet and garter toss;
  • And a first dance that showcased two hearts beating as one.

As open dancing started, we got James and Catherine back outside to the back of the Log House to get some late evening images, and the almost pre-requisite dip shot. Not only did we capture great images, the newlyweds got a chance to get a second wind for the remainder of the party that evening.

We wrapped up our sunset shots, and headed out, ecstatic over the images we captured for the lovebirds, grateful for being honored to capture their momentous day. Here’s to a lifetime of happiness to James and Catherine.
