When we last checked in on Paul and Mindy, we had wrapped a late summer couple’s session with this delectable and warm couple.
Fast forward to early October, and we’re revisiting them, as we were honored to capture their wedding pictures in Millennium Park in downtown Chicago.
A few weeks after that intial summer shoot, Paul asked Mindy to marry him in a surprise engagement on their second anniversary (of them starting to date)—August 7th. The moment was made even more special as Paul proposed with his grandmother’s ring.
With the uncommon times we are living in, Paul and Mindy decided to keep the ceremony streamlined̵—having a family friend officiate the civil ceremony. At the same time the were moving those pieces into place, they reached out and asked if I would capture their special day, taking pictures post-ceremony. It’s safe to say that I said yes as if I were getting asked to get married!
A few Facebook messages between us, and we agreed that Millennium Park would be a great place to get pictures, not only of Paul and Mindy, but of their amazing families.
Paul and Mindy arrived first, looking stylish, and broadcasting radiant beams of love you could feel in their presence. We had about an hour or so until their families arrived. We used the time to visit some of the open places in Millennium Park—specifically the more Southern area of the Park—shooting a mixture of pictures highlighting the deep love and shared silliness the two weave so well together.
With everyone there, we continued to shoot. We moved from the Pavilion back to the Southern side of the Park as the evening started to creep in and got some additional killer shots that highlighted warm family love which offset the slight chill in the air.
With pictures wrapped up, Paul, Mindy, their families, and I, headed over to Herb Restaurant on the North Side, to continue to celebrate Paul and Mindy’s new life together. Laughs, great food, great conversation…and did I mention to great food?
And with that, the evening wrapped up. Thanks to Paul and Mindy’s love, their families’ support, and the beautiful scenery provided as only Chicago can, we captured a milestone in the wonderful life they (Paul and Mindy) are building together. Oh, and I mention we put together a nice little video montage of the day? ?
