Who knew that Merrillville, Indiana was the not-so-hidden home of the Justice League? Or at least, the mini-version? ?
What else could it have been when you had the groom and his groomsmen at the Innsbrook Country Club, in impeccable tuxedos with DC super hero t-shirts underneath? (And oh did we ever get some wonderful “rip the shirt” images of Brian and crew!
While I worked with Brian and crew, my assistant photographer Lynzi got some killer shots of bride-to-be Tiffany getting ready. Fun fact: Tiffany did her own wedding dress customizations, including alterations and adding embellishments.
With getting ready shots completed, we headed off to capture a cozy ceremony, filled with laughs, loving glances personal vows, and a sharing of glass of wine to symbolize the union of Brian and Tiffany. Fun fact: The wine came from a vineyard Brian owns and operates. Fun fact: Tiffany crafted the wedding arch and decorations that adorned the ceremony room.
With a warm ceremony over—punctuated with a passionate first kiss—it was time to capture family portraits. While most wedding guests headed to the next room to start cocktail hour, we gave Brian and Tiffany some cherished (and silly) memories with the VIPs of their wedding. Having the families and bridal party willing to add a little character with some silly faces added more energy to an already-charged afternoon/evening.
We then politely shooed away the family and bridal parties to get some beautiful images of Brian and Tiffany. Utilizing Innsbrook’s recently-remodeled interior, we got warm, intimate images of these lovebirds. Looking at the images, you’d have no clue it was exceedingly cold outside, with snow on the ground.
It was time to get the party started! After a short break to give Brian and Tiffany some time to themselves, bridal party introductions were made. 219 Productions took the vibe to a new level, announcing everyone with the enthusiasm of a sports announcer introducing a starting lineup. Bridal party members were shaking booties, family and friends were cheering, and Brian and Tiffany danced their way into the room, soaking in the love the crowd was sending.
The newlyweds kicked things off with a fun-filled cake cutting, and then went into a speech, thanking family, friends, and vendors, for helping make their day special. The couple were beaming. Their words of gratefulness reverberated, filling the room with a wave of emotion in an already emotionally-vibrant reception.
As the reception continued, the couple had a charming first dance, done to the Alicia Keys song, “If I Ain’t Got You”. The moment was made more special thanks to the gorgeous fireplace behind the couple for much of the dance.
Open dancing started soon after. And if the garter and bouquet toss—and the “YMCA” moment hilariously overtaken by one of Brian and Tiffany’s friend—weren’t enough, there was a huge conga line that had almost everyone at the reception joining in. The conga line got so huge that it was politely crashed by a trio of people at the Innsbrook for a completely different event.
What an evening! What a couple!
