A Small Intimate Couples Shoot at Herrick Lake

August 15, 2020

I’ve been fortunate to know Tim and Lexi for just about three years. We all are a part of a local West Coast Swing dance community in the Chicago area. And during that time I’ve captured a lot of fun pictures of the two dancing. (I take pictures at our weekly dance.)

Once the dance was no longer running (Even thought it’s the culprit, we won’t mention the “C” word) for the immediate future, we decided to get together to do a couples shoot near them—a great opportunity for me to get shots of them off the dance floor for the first time.

We wound up using Herrick Lake—a park in the Chicago suburb of Wheaton. Surrounding by lush greenery, and limiting our time due to some excessive humidity that started to roll through the area about a third of the way through our shoot, I caught some great shots of these two lovebirds.

Some of the best moments were the spontaneous smiles that erupted on each one’s face as they would whisper something intimate into the ear of the other. If you want to see an example of a couple that compliments each other wonderfully, these two are it.

Laughs, blushes, and large warm smiles were in abundance. And we got done before we all turned into puddles of water (thanks to the aforementioned humidity that rolled in).

I can’t say thanks enough to Tim and Lexi. We created some spectacular shots, and I hope I get the chance to work to with them again in the future.
